Here at The Coaching Fellowship (TCFS) we are delighted to announce we have received a $200,000 grant from #StartSmall, the public fund of Square and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for global COVID-19 relief. After the pandemic, the focus of #StartSmall will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI.

These funds will support TCFS to further expand our core programs serving young women social change leaders around the world, and to continue supporting young women leaders specifically in direct care roles. We believe strongly that those who are helping others, should also be helped.

In 2020 TCFS immediately responded to the global Covid-10 pandemic by creating a special coaching program to serve global young women impact leaders supporting the frontline. Healthcare professionals, community organizers, social workers, food bank operators and more, were selected to receive coaching support designed to (i) provide a safe, non judgmental space to process experience and emotions, (ii) develop practices for stress management & self-care in crisis, (iii) build resilience and capacity to think clearly under pressure (iv) strategize approaches to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity, and much more.

Those fellows include women like Alicia from New York City, an emergency medicine resident physician. Early in the pandemic, Alicia was working in the ER and ICU at Elmhurst Hospital, then called “the epicenter of the epicenter” of the pandemic. She started Frontline Suits, an initiative to donate 1000+ head-to-toe suits and face shields to healthcare workers at NYC safety-net hospitals. We gave Alicia rapid access to coaching that helped her find the necessary balance between her ER doctor work and her passion for creating systemic change.

It is such an honor to receive this funding, and the huge vote confidence from #StartSmall in our ability to create a big impact along with other recognized incredibly impressive nonprofits. With this incredible injection of funding,, we will be able to continue our efforts in supporting more young women leaders directly affected by the pandemic, and those leading efforts for recovery” said Jane Finette, Founder and Executive Director, The Coaching Fellowship.

At The Coaching Fellowship we enable young women leaders in social impact to build the new world by providing access to executive-level coaching, leadership development, and a community network. Now, as it is more clear than ever that women will disproportionately fall behind professionally as a result of the impacts of COVID, this funding will help enable TCFS to expand our support for women leaders in social impact as the pandemic continues, and throughout recovery.
